Privacy First: By default, all processing happens directly in your browser (Local Mode). Your files are never uploaded to any server, ensuring complete privacy and security of your data. For larger or complex files, you can optionally use Remote Mode, which processes files on our server but never stores them.
How to Use
- Drag and drop your file into the upload area
- Or click to select a file from your computer
- Or paste your file directly (Ctrl+V / Cmd+V)
- Select conversion mode (Local or Remote)
- Wait for the conversion to complete
- Copy or save the converted markdown
Conversion Modes
Local Mode (Default)
Processes files directly in your browser. Your data never leaves your device, providing maximum privacy and security.
Remote Mode
Sends files to our server for processing and returns results immediately. Files are processed in memory and never stored permanently. This option provides better performance for large or complex files.
FAQ
What file types are supported?
- Microsoft Office: Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx), PowerPoint (.pptx)
- PDF documents (.pdf)
- Images (with EXIF metadata and OCR support)
- Audio files (with EXIF metadata and speech transcription)
- HTML (with special handling for Wikipedia and other sites)
- Various text formats (CSV, JSON, XML, etc.)
Why is the first conversion slow?
The first conversion in Local Mode requires downloading and initializing the conversion engine in your browser. Subsequent conversions will be much faster. Remote Mode provides consistent conversion speeds.
Is there a file size limit?
For Local Mode, we recommend files under 100MB for optimal browser performance. Remote Mode can handle larger files more efficiently but has a 200MB maximum limit.
